The BlackEye Head and Helmet Camera is a totally revolutionary extreme sports camera. Specially developed and designed with extreme sports in mind, this camera comes with a special flexible and durable strap for mounting on your head and all sorts of helmets.
The BlackEye 420 is a wearable video head and helmet camera system to record sports activities absolutely hands-free. The camera is built into a flexible rubber body that fits virtually any helmet. This soft material won't scratch your helmet and protects the camera electronics against impact.
It comes with a woven head strap to wrap around your helmet, plus a variety of rubber helmet adaptors. The helmet adaptors fit the camera tightly on multiple shapes of helmets. (with some rare exceptions), the ergonomic shape perfectly adapts to your head, even without wearing a helmet. That gives you ultimate freedom filming sports where helmets are unnecessary.
It also provides state of the art video electronics for excellent quality recording. We use CCD video sensors which perform best in fast video applications.
The BlackEye is powered by it's own battery pack. 8AA batteries provide enough juice for up to 8 hours of use. That's a lot longer than any battery of your recording device will last. Feel free to either use alkaline or rechargeable NIMH batteries. The integrated microphone adds kick and reality to your movies. Hear the spray of dirt, the impact of touchdown and the "thunk" of your ice axe.
It comes with easy-to-use cables. Just plug and play. The length of the cables cables make it convenient to handle your backpack while recording or when taking off your helmet. All plugs and jacks are self-explanatory.
Please note that this is not a self contained unit and needs to be connected to a recorder that has an AV-input. The BlackEye will then capture the footage onto this recorder.
This is a must-have helmet camera, designed like no other. It fits on your head, on bike helmets, climbing helmets, BMX helmets, snowboard and ski helmets, and full face helmets. All you need is a camcorder with an Av-In port.
